Anesthesia
Our anesthesia Service provides consultation and guidance regarding the practice of anesthesiology through distribution of information concerning agreed-upon and universally-applied principles and practices.  Anesthesia supports VHA's mission by providing the highest quality of care.

Blind Rehabilitation
Our blind rehabilitation program provides comprehensive blind rehabilitation services to legally blind veterans. The majority of veterans attending the Center are enrolled in the regular blind rehab program. This program offers Vision Rehabilitation, Orientation and Mobility, Living Skills and Manual Skills. Programs are tailored to each veteran’s specific needs. Read more about our services

Brain Imaging and Recovery Laboratory
Our brain imaging and recovery laboratory is designed to identify neuroimaging features that account for cognitive impairments in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and serve as a testing ground to evaluate innovative and promising new treatments for TBI. Read more about our services.

Dental Service
Our dental care program offers a broad range of treatments including anesthesiology, conscious sedation, general surgery, oral diagnostics, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, radiology, restorative dentistry. We also offer an Advanced Education in General Dentisty Program that selects one or two one year residents annually. All residency programs at the CTVHCS in medicine and dentistry are under the Texas A&M School of Medicine Dean’s Committee.  The AEGD program is fully accredited by the American Dental Association. Read more about our program

Mental Health
Central Texas Veterans Health Care System offers a wide range of mental health services to veterans and the community.  The largest mental health resource in VISN 17, CTVHCS provides care for veterans from the farthest corners of Texas and the four states that touch Texas. Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) provides timely cost effective laboratory services to meet the needs of our veteran population and health care providers.  P&LMS also conducts a full array of laboratory tests and procedures to support product lines.  The Temple facility is the main testing site or referral site while the Austin Outpatient Clinic and Waco site provide a limited testing menu consistent with the CTVHCS mission.

Patient Administration
Patient Administration Service ensures the admission, discharge, transfer, and referral processes are timely and efficient to enhance patient satisfaction, maximize financial management, and meet established regulatory guidelines.

Pharmacy
Pharmacy service is an essential part of patient care. Prescriptions may be refilled through the My HealtheVet Online RX Refill, by U.S. mail, telephone, or dropped off at any of the CTVHCS Pharmacy window locations. Read more about our services

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System provides rehabilitation services that emphasize independent functioning. We utilize an individualized treatment approach, education and consultation by qualified staff to reach achievable outcomes for our Veterans. Read more about our services

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System offers treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder on an outpatient basis and on a more intensive residential basis.  Outpatient care is available at the Austin, Temple, and Waco sites.  The residential program is located in Waco. Psychology Internship
