Central Texas Veterans Veterans Health Care System has its own pharmacy for greater convenience to our patients. Our Pharmacy service cannot issue medications or supplies prescribed by private physicians. We fill only prescriptions written by Central Texas Veterans Health Care System and Fee Basis physicians. The pharmacy processes over 3,000 prescriptions daily. Many of these prescriptions are filled by the Central Mailout Pharmacy (CMOP). Prescriptions may be refilled by phone or the Internet.
Services Offered
Note: In order to see the names of the medications you are taking, you will need to go to Release of Information and fill out a form. Otherwise, you will only be able to see the prescription numbers.
New Prescriptions
A new prescription voids any previous prescription written for the same drug. If the pharmacy is out of the medication or supply ordered by your physician, the request will be put on hold and the medication or supply will be mailed to you as soon as it arrives.
Prescription Co-Payment
Some patients may be responsible for a co-payment for discharge and outpatient medication. The determination for payment will be based upon your current established eligibility and service connection.

Residency Program
Pharmacists completing this Residency Program will be competent and confident practitioners of direct patient care in multiple environments. The residency gives focused experience in a broad array of pharmacy practice areas with an emphasis on primary care. Core rotations include block and longitudinal training in ambulatory care, internal medicine, and practice management. Elective rotations are also available in hematology/oncology, psychiatry, geriatrics, critical care, and research. Through CTVHCS and UT, residents present formal lectures, journal club, case presentation, and prepare a residency project. Following the completion of the residency, the residents will have the necessary skills to be confident pharmacy clinicians and leaders.
