Social Work

Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS) offers a wide range of social and mental health services to veterans and the community. CTVHCS provides care for veterans from the farthest corners of Texas and the four states that touch Texas. Social Workers are located at the Austin Outpatient Clinic, Temple Medical Center, Waco Medical Center and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics: Brownwood, Bryan/College Station, Cedar Park, and Palestine.

CTVHCS Social Workers are licensed and actively participate in a wide range of medical and mental health treatment modalities – including individual and group therapy for Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Post Traumatic Stress, HIV Education/Counseling, and Geriatrics and Extended Care.  Social Workers assist in the Education of Advance Directives, End of Life Planning, VA and Community Resource referral, and Discharge Assessment and Planning.

CTVHCS Social Work is proud to participate in teaching and training of tomorrow's social work healthcare professionals and actively participates in Graduate School of Social Work affiliations.
