Pharmacy Residency Program

ASHP Accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program (4 Positions)

Pharmacists completing this residency will be competent and confident practitioners of direct patient care in multiple environments. The residency gives focused experience in a broad array of pharmacy practice areas with an emphasis on medication therapy management. Core rotations include block and longitudinal training in ambulatory care, internal medicine, and practice management. Elective rotations are also available in hematology/oncology, psychiatry, geriatrics, critical care, cardiology and home based primary care.

Through CTVHCS and the University of Texas at Austin, residents present formal lectures, journal club, case presentation, and prepare a residency project.  Following the completion of the residency, the residents will have the necessary skills to be confident pharmacy clinicians and leaders.
